Join CPTV for Kids’ Days at Barnes & Noble in Blue Back Square on November 14 and 15
HARTFORD, Conn. (October 14, 2008) – CPTV and Barnes & Noble Bookstoreare teaming up on Friday and Saturday, November 14 and 15, 2008, for two daysof reading and fun at the Barnes & Noble located in Blue Back Square, 60Isham Road, West Hartford.
This special two-day event, beginning at noon on Friday,November 14 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, willfeature meet-and-greets with characters from CPTV’s popular lineup ofchildren’s programs, including SuperWHY!,Curious George, Sheira and Loli’s Ditty Doodle Works and Martha Speaks. Other activities include live stageperformances by Mr. Steve, who appears on CPTV in themornings during PBS Kids segments, singing his “SteveSongs, as well as Sheiraand Loli’s Ditty Doodle Works sing-along, and a performance by The HartfordChildren’s Theatre Discovery Company Players. Plus, there will be story timesand book signings with children’s authors Janet Lawler, reading her book If Kisses Were Colors, and Kathleen Kudlinski, author of youngadult science picture books, historical novels and biographies. “CPTV Kids”coloring and crafts activities, face painting and raffle drawings also will beavailable to participants.
Proceeds from the event benefit CPTV, with apercentage of sales being donated to CPTV to benefit its children’s programming and other educationalinitiatives. At the time of purchase on November 14and 15, customers can simply tell the cashier that they’d like to support CPTV,and a donation will be provided to the station.
