HARTFORD, Conn. (July 29, 2013) – Join Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) and Lyman Orchards for CPTV Kids Day on Saturday, August 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, Conn. Kids and parents are invited to come for a full day of fun activities that are perfect for the entire family.

Buddy, the curious, funny, and intelligent T-Rex from the popular PBS children’s series, Dinosaur Train, will be making appearances and meeting young fans throughout the day, beginning at 10 a.m.

Children can also enjoy exploring Lyman Orchards’ extraordinary Sunflower Maze, consisting of 350,000 towering red and yellow sunflowers that twist and turn in a unique roller coaster design. Maze admission is $10 per person, $5 for ages 4-12, and free for children 3 and under. $1 of each admission is donated to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Families are also invited to pick fresh seasonable fruit, including blueberries and peaches.

Debuting in 2009 on CPTV and PBS stations nationwide, Dinosaur Train embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains. In each episode, Buddy and his adoptive Pteranodon family take a whimsical voyage through prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans, as they unearth basic concepts in life science, natural history and paleontology.
