CPTV Presents Three Musical Specials Featuring André Rieu, Yanni and Celtic Woman on Saturday, November 29
HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) makes the holiday season a little brighter with three specials airing on Saturday, November 29. André Rieu: Live in Vienna airs at 1:30 p.m., Yanni: Voices at 7 p.m. and midnight, and Celtic Woman: Greatest Journey - Holiday Special at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. These special concerts are being presented as part of CPTV’s November/December 2008 membership campaign, and the broadcast of Celtic Woman: Greatest Journey - Holiday Special will include a live visit from two members of Celtic Woman, Lisa and Mairead. All three broadcasts will also include information on how to obtain exclusive CPTV Red Carpet tickets to see Rieu, Yanni and Celtic Woman live and in concert.
André Rieu: Live in Vienna
Filmed in front of Vienna’s beautiful Hofburg Palace, world-renowned violinist, conductor and composer André Rieu performs works by some of Vienna’s most famous composers. From Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Franz Lehar, Rieu honors many note-worthy musicians while also performing familiar melodies like “The Blue Danube Waltz”and “The Sound of Music.”
Yanni: Voices (Premiere)
(To be rebroadcast on November 30 at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.)
World-famous composer and pianist Yanni joins four young vocalists — Nathan Pacheco, Chloe, Ender Thomas and Leslie Mills — to offer an evening of new compositions and Yanni classics. Yanni spent two years creating and perfecting the Voices project, in which he and these talented newcomers perform songs like “Enchantment,” “In the Mirror” and “November Sky.”
Celtic Woman: Greatest Journey - Holiday Special (Premiere)

Celtic Woman is not only a talented singing group, it is a phenomenon that has swept the globe. This quintet of amazing musicians has brought the sounds of traditional Irish folk music into the mainstream with sold-out shows and hit albums like Celtic Woman: A New Journey and Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration. This new special combines the best moments from a variety of Celtic Woman concerts and includes such fan-favorites as “Spanish Lady,” “Christmas Pipes” and “You Raise Me Up.”
