Hoffman Auto Group has announced that it will sponsor Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network’s Contribute-a-Car program throughout 2010, and extend a special thank-you offer exclusively to Contribute-a-Car donors.
Contribute-a-Car is a vehicle donation program that allows individuals to donate their car and offer the proceeds to benefit the programming and services of the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN), the parent company of Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) and WNPR-Connecticut Public Radio.
Jeffrey Hoffman, Co-Chairman of Hoffman Auto Group said, “Connecticut Public Broadcasting is one of our community’s most trusted resources. Hoffman Auto Group is driven by trust and is proud to underwrite CPTV and WNPR’s local programming initiatives.”
Bradley Hoffman, Co-Chairman of Hoffman Auto Group highlighted, “While CPBN counts on the corporate community to make CPTV and WNPR programming possible, Hoffman Auto Group recognizes that it is also generosity from Contribute-a-Car donors that drive vital station support. We want to express our thanks to them.”
Jerry Franklin, the President & CEO of the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network, commented on the new partnership. “The third generation of the Hoffman Auto Group – Jeffrey, Bradley and fourth generation Matthew – is following in the tradition of their esteemed father and grandfather, Burton Hoffman, who was a leader in our community for decades serving their loyal customers and numerous non-profit organizations like ours. Contribute-a-Car is an opportunity for true synergy between our organizations.”
Started in 2003, CPBN’s Contribute-a-Car program has seen countless vehicles donated to the program and raised a total of $1.3 million in revenue toward public broadcasting programming and services. The program provides individuals with a viable solution to owning a car they can no longer use or need yet requires registration and insurance costs. Contribute-a-Car accepts vehicles “as is” and tows them away at no expense. Owners simply must send in the car title. In addition, vehicle donations may be eligible for a deduction on itemized federal returns. Participants in the program should consult their tax adviser for more information.
Since 2007, CPBN’s Contribute-a-Car program has been administered by Key Management Group of Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Key manages vehicle donation programs for some of the most respected charities in the United States, including other Public Television and Radio Stations, The American Red Cross, churches, schools and more.
