David Garrett Returns to CPTV with a New Special: Rock Symphonies!
A CPTV Red Carpet Performance
Following his successful Live in Berlin special, David Garrett dusts off his violin for his upcoming special David Garrett: Rock Symphonies!, which premieres on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) on Saturday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. An encore presentation will air on Sunday, August 1 at 9 p.m. Plus, viewers can tune in to learn about exclusive ticket and meet & greet opportunities to Garrett’s upcoming Connecticut concert.
Garrett’s earlier special and subsequent U.S. Tour launched him towards international recognition. His sold-out concerts – including two in Connecticut – and highly-rated television specials led to another anticipated television special and a new album. In his upcoming special, Garrett mixes classical and rock genres to create rock symphonies. His performance contains selections throughout the rock and pop catalogue from the 1960s through the 1990s.
David Garrett: Rock Symphonies! contains musical covers of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir,” a Michael Jackson medley including “Billy Jean,” and the well-known Beatles hit “Hey Jude.” Among these rock and pop classics, Garrett also performs hits from Aerosmith, The Pretenders and Nirvana, all taped from Berlin's open-air Wuhlheide Theater.
