CPTV Seeks Photos and Home Movies for the Upcoming Documentary, The 60s in Connecticut

Do you remember the 1960s in Connecticut? Do you have the photos, home movies and memorabilia to prove it? Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) is producing a new documentary called The 60s in Connecticut, which highlights a decade that left its imprint on Connecticut, its business, politics and lifestyle. But we need your help! 
 
CPTV is looking for images, footage and memorabilia from the 1960s of Connecticut political rallies, historic musical concerts, civil rights demonstrations, women’s liberation rallies, environmental happenings, fashion changes and any other pivotal events or activities from the decade.
 
Examples could include…
  • The building of Interstates 84 and 91
  • New Haven’s urban renewal with the building of a new downtown, a new highway system and the New Haven Coliseum
  • The Doors 1967 concert in New Haven when Jim Morrison was arrested for obscenity
  • The race riots of the late 1960s in Bridgeport, Waterbury, Middletown, New Britain, Stamford, Norwalk, and New London, particularly after Martin Luther King’s assassination in 1968
  • The Black Panthers being put on trial in New Haven and Bobby Seale visiting Yale
  • The election of Ann Uccello as Hartford’s mayor, making her the first female mayor of a U.S. capital city
  • The first undergraduate women matriculating at two previously all-male institutions: TrinityCollege and YaleUniversity 
  • The building of the state’s first state’s first commercial nuclear power plant: the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company plant in Haddam Neck
  • Or any other Connecticut 1960s-related photos or home movies that you feel would be significant
