John Fogerty is a living legend in American rock and roll, and now fans will get to see him bring down the house in Soundstage: John Fogerty, airing Saturday, November 14 at 9:30 p.m. on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV). The special broadcast also includes information on how viewers can get exclusive CPTV tickets to an upcoming John Fogerty performance in Connecticut.
John Fogerty is best known as the lead singer for the band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). From 1968 to 1974, CCR used a funky swamp rock sound to gain fans from around the world, and with songs like “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Green River,” “Travelin' Band” and “Who'll Stop the Rain,” the band became a mainstay of rock and roll. After Creedence Clearwater Revival disbanded, John Fogerty began a successful solo career, using his masterful songwriting skills to craft albums that reflected not only his own life but society at large. In 1993, CCR was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fogerty’s 1997 solo album Blue Moon Swamp won the Grammy for best rock album, and in 2005 he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
In Soundstage: John Fogerty, Fogerty weaves beloved CCR classics with his own material, including songs from his latest solo album Revival, an upbeat journey through musical styles, from the swamp rock “Creedence Song” to the rockabilly “It Ain’t Right.” Utilizing the full spectrum of Southern rock, Fogerty builds a performance that spans generations.
