Last year, Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) hosted the Connecticut Treasure Hunt unearthing over $2 million worth of antique treasures.  Many of these fascinating findings were featured on CPTV much to the delight of hundreds of thousands of viewers.

Now, CPTV is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Connecticut Treasure Hunt appraisal fair and this year’s event is bigger and better than ever! Certain to be the antique event of the season, the Connecticut Treasure Hunt features over 35 top antique appraisers from around the Northeast offering appraisals on a wide array of antique and collectible categories.

The event will be held Sunday, November 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Tickets are $50 per person and include two verbal appraisals. All tickets are available by calling CPTV at 1-800-683-2112 or online at cptv.org, keyword: Treasure Hunt. All tickets must be purchased in advance of the event.

Over the course of the day-long event, All Things Connecticut correspondent Brian Scott-Smith and a CPTV camera crew will be searching for the most unique, historical and interesting items at the Connecticut Treasure Hunt. Footage will be used for future segments on CPTV’s local magazine-style series All Things Connecticut and on the “Faux or Fortune” television vignettes that air before Antiques Roadshow broadcasts on CPTV, as well as on Treasure Hunt, a CPTV Original special show set to air in early 2011.

CPTV’s Connecticut Treasure Hunt is made possible by presenting sponsor, Golden Gavel Auctions of East Windsor. Golden Gavel Auctions owner and auctioneer Patrick Soucy commented on the company’s participation, “Golden Gavel Auctions is excited to be sponsoring the Connecticut Treasure Hunt for the second year in a row.  It’s a great event, and we really like that our sponsorship helps support CPTV’s wonderful programming.”
