Release Date: 05/17/2010

Encore Broadcast To Air Sunday, May 23 at 10 a.m.

Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) sheds light on the “bright side” of the current economic climate with Silver Linings in a Dark Economy, a new, live town meeting special premiering on Tuesday, May 18 at 8 p.m. The premiere broadcast will also be simulcast on WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio.

Silver Linings in a Dark Economy explores the idea that, in spite of current challenges to the state and national economies, many Connecticut residents are actually using the recession to redefine themselves, further their educations, realize long-held dreams, and solve longstanding problems. Watch as a panel of entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others discuss how pioneering individuals are bringing new jobs to the state and creating new opportunities for themselves and others.

During the broadcast, viewers can e-mail silverlining@cptv.org or call 800-842-2788 with their comments and questions about Connecticut’s economic outlook. The panel of experts will address selected comments and questions live on the air.

Funding for Silver Linings in a Dark Economy is provided by Webster Bank, celebrating 75 years of helping people find a way.
