CPTV Honors America’s Men and Women in Uniform with The 2010 National Memorial Day Concert on Sunday, May 30 at 8 p.m.

A Special Encore Presentation To Air Monday, May 31 at 9 p.m. 

Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) honors the service and sacrifice of America’s men and women in uniform with The 2010 National Memorial Day Concert, premiering on Sunday, May 30 at 8 p.m. A special encore broadcast will air on Monday, May 31 at 9 p.m.
 
The 2010 National Memorial Day Concert will be presented live and in high definition from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. This year’s concert will focus on three themes: honoring the sacrifices of a new generation of military widows; recognizing the 60th anniversary of the Korean War and honoring its veterans and its fallen; and paying homage to the more than 125,000 WWI and WWII service members who are interned in military cemeteries overseas. 
 
For the fifth consecutive year, the concert will be co-hosted by Academy Award-nominated actor, director and producer Gary Sinise (CSI: NewYork; Forrest Gump) and Tony-Award winning actor and writer Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds; Searching for Bobby Fisher). Contributors and performers will include The National Symphony Orchestra, the U.S. Army Chorus, and the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters, as well as “pop” musicians Lionel Ritchie, Brad Paisley, Yolanda Adams and more.
  
The National Memorial Day Concert has been broadcast annually on PBS for more than 20 years.This year, it will also be presented via American Forces Network to nearly one million American service men and women and Department of Defense civilians stationed overseas.
