Join the celebration as Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) honors Connecticut’s 375th birthday with special encore presentations of CPTV’s most popular award-winning local historic documentaries.

Throughout the month of September, CPTV will be airing documentaries that highlight some of Connecticut’s most memorable people, places and events. These programs range from Remember When – a nostalgic look at Connecticut’s most popular entertainment attractions from the 1930s to the 1950s – to As Dreams Go By - the inspiring story of 16 boys from Windsor Locks, Connecticut who attained the ultimate dream of a Little League World Championship in the summer of 1965. Also featured in this celebration of our state is Puerto Rican Passages – a look into how the waves of migration from Puerto Rico to Connecticut have added a rich blend of history, culture and politics to the state’s heritage.

CPTV presents this special programming as part of Connecticut’s yearlong celebration, which kicked off February 17, 2010, when Governor M. Jodi Rell led a procession from the State Capitol to the State Library.

“This celebration is for everyone – for the young and old, for those with deep roots and those who have just recently called Connecticut home,” Governor Rell said. “It is a great state to live, work and raise a family. Over the course of 2010, we will honor Connecticut – its founders and future.”

Funding for Connecticut’s 375th Anniversary Programming Celebration on CPTV is provided by the Presenting Sponsor, Travelers.
