CPTV (Connecticut Public Television) and WNPR (Connecticut Public Radio) have been known for producing programs and special events that celebrate fine wine and rich culinary pursuits – from Eating CT to The Faith Middleton Show’s Food Schmooze to Signature Event Wine Dinners. Now the public broadcasting network is turning its attention to another culinary pursuit: beer and chili!
On Sunday, August 22 from 12 noon to 4 p.m., CPTV and WNPR will present the first annual Craft Beer and Chili Challenge event at the Mohegan Sun Arena. With over 20 different brewers, more than 20 of the best restaurants in Connecticut and over 2,000 attendees expected, the Craft Beer and Chili Challenge is going to be the biggest event of its kind in the state.
Visitors to the event will be able to sample a vast selection of craft-brewed beers, as well as a variety of bowls of chili – from hearty and meaty, to hot and spicy, to vegetarian, and everything in between. Then everyone can vote on their favorites and the best beer and chili in Connecticut will be crowned.
