Release Date: 04/01/2014

Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) is pleased to announce that it will air Billy Joel: A Matter of Trust – The Bridge to Russia – The Concert on Wednesday, April 9 at 8 p.m.

Airing for the first time on a PBS station, Billy Joel: A Matter of Trust – The Bridge to Russia – The Concert showcases legendary singer, songwriter and pianist Billy Joel connecting with the Russian people during the era of the Cold War as he performs at over six concerts in Moscow and Leningrad in the former Soviet Union. The Concert features newly restored and remastered material from Live in Leningrad, 1987, a concert special directed by the award-winning Wayne Isham that has been unavailable since its VHS release. Also included in The Concert are a number of previously unreleased performances not seen in the original special.

Produced and restored by Emmy-winning documentarian Jim Brown (Pete Seeger: The Power of Song, American Roots Music, An Evening with Henry Belafonte), The Concert features classic Joel fan-favorites, hits from the 1986 album The Bridge, covers and more. The song list includes:

Angry Young Man
Allentown
Goodnight Saigon
Innocent Man
Honesty
A Matter Of Trust
Only The Good Die Young
You May Be Right

This broadcast will also include a new interview with Joel conducted by CPTV in spring 2014.
