CPTV’s New Special, Connecticut Treasure Hunt, Highlights Some of the State’s Most Interesting Collectibles and Collectors

Release Date: 06/08/2010

Monday, June 14 at 9:30 pm on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV)

Think you have some valuable antiques or collectibles in your attic? Many people do. That’s why they brought them to CPTV’s Connecticut Treasure Hunt event at Mohegan Sun Arena last year. There CPTV met an interesting array of Connecticut collectors and their collectibles, captured them on camera, and then traveled to their homes to find out more about their incredible finds.

Now CPTV has culled together some of the most fascinating discoveries from that event and produced a new CPTV Original special presentation of Connecticut Treasure Hunt being broadcast on Monday, June 14 at 9:30 p.m. on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV).

Hosted by Brian Scott-Smith, Connecticut Treasure Hunt takes viewers on a journey through the lives and homes of local residents who share a passion for antiques and collecting. Featured collectors include a man who digs up historical pieces from right beneath his feet, a woman who pays her mortgage by selling things she finds at thrift stores and on the Internet, and many more. Brian Scott-Smith is also the host of the “Treasure Hunt” segment on CPTV’s popular magazine-style series, All Things Connecticut.

During these special presentations, CPTV will include information on how viewers can get tickets to the next Connecticut Treasure Hunt event at the Mohegan Sun Arena on November 7, 2010. For additional ticket information, call 1-800-683-2112 or go to CPTV.org. The Connecticut Treasure Hunt event is sponsored by Golden Gavel Auctions of East Windsor, Connecticut.
