CPBN Seeks New Members for Community Advisory Board
The Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN) has new openings in its Community Advisory Board (CAB) and is currently seeking new members.
The CAB’s focus is to ensure that the programs that the network provides to its audiences have a positive impact on the community. The CAB consists of a group of individual members, representing the viewers and listeners of Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) and Connecticut Public Radio (WNPR).
In its advisory capacity, the CAB assists CPTV and WNPR with development and implementation of appropriate and effective mechanisms for community input into program planning and development. By engaging in community meetings, conducting ascertainment projects and hosting program screenings, the CAB also provides CPTV and WNPR with relevant feedback. These interactions allow CPTV and WNPR to reflect and respond to the interests of the community.
Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. at Connecticut Public Broadcasting’s Hartford headquarters at 1049 Asylum Avenue. Upcoming dates for the CAB’s 2014 meetings include:
• Tuesday, June 10, 2014
• Tuesday, September 9, 2014
• Tuesday, December 9, 2014
Community members interested in pursuing a rewarding volunteer opportunity with the CAB should send their resume and contact information to Carol Sisco at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (860) 275-7212.
