The 2009 CIAC softball, baseball and lacrosse championships are brought to viewers by Comcast, DiGiorgi Roofing and Siding, and CT Lighting Centers. The 2009 CIAC basketball and ice hockey championships are brought to viewers by Comcast, Mohegan Sun, Connecticut Air National Guard and Connecticut Lighting Centers. CTSN’s UConn Women’s Basketball Season in Review and Classics are sponsored by St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

For the week of August 3 through August 7, CTSN’s program highlights include:
Monday, August 3
8 p.m. – CIAC Class L State High School Baseball Championship – Branford vs. Berlin

Tuesday, August 4
7 p.m. – CIAC Class S State High School Softball Championship – Canton vs. Coginchaug

Wednesday, August 5
6:30 p.m. – RoboNation: CT FIRST, an original Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN) Media Lab program. The full length feature follows robotics teams as they prepare for and participate in the Connecticut FIRST Robotics Competition held recently at the Connecticut Convention Center. The teams —Birds of Prey, Paragon, R.A.G.E., and ÜberBots—exemplify the best of the FIRST competition, including team work, success, career development and a strong working relationship between the students and engineering mentors from United Technologies Corporation (UTC). Production funding for RoboNation: CT FIRST is made possible in part by Alstom Power.

7:30 p.m. – Aston’s Army: A Swim Team's Legacy. The history and incredible winning streak of the Cheshire High School girls swim team is profiled. Under longtime coach Ed Aston, the swim team has been unbeaten since 1986, achieving 239 wins while setting a national record. After 34 years of coaching, Aston's philosophy has remained the same: he never cuts anyone who wants to swim, and as a result he still wins. "You have to have the talent, and you have to have the kids who are willing to commit to that," notes Aston. "I think at this point, to some degree, they don't want to let anyone down. They don't want to be the one that's going to lose. So they pass this on to one another." The documentary also features interviews with former and current players, as well as parents.

Thursday, August 6
8:30 p.m. – CIAC Division I Girls State High School Lacrosse Championship – New Canaan vs. Darien

Friday, August 7
7 p.m. – CIAC Class S State High School Baseball Championship – Stafford vs. Notre Dame-Fairfield
