Connecticut Sports Network (CTSN) and the University of Hartford toTelevise Men's and Women's Basketball During 2010-2011 Season

Connecticut Sports Network (CTSN), Connecticut’s first-ever 24-hour local sports network, is partnering with the University of Hartford Athletic Department to broadcast a series of University of Hartford men’s and women’s basketball games live on CTSN during the 2010-2011 basketball season.

Starting in November 2010, CTSN will produce and air a total of eight games featuring the Hartford Hawks. Each broadcast will feature a live home game, and each will be aired exclusively on CTSN. They will also include post-game interviews, and six of the games will be preceded by special coach’s shows, which feature games insights and analysis.
 
“We are thrilled to renew our partnership with the Connecticut Sports Network in bringing Hartford basketball to fans throughout Connecticut,” said Pat Meiser, University of Hartford’s Director of Athletics. “We are eager to once again showcase our basketball programs throughout the state. Our women’s program under coach Jen Rizzotti continues to thrive and we look forward to introducing first-year head coach John Gallagher and our men’s team to Connecticut basketball fans.”
 
The 2010-2011 season includes the following games airing on CTSN:
  • Monday, November 22 - Women vs. Sacred Heart at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 2 - Men vs. Brown at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 7 - Women vs. Marist at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 8 - Women vs. Albany at 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 26 - Women vs. Stony Brook at 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, February 2 - Women vs. Vermont at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 26 - Women vs. New Hampshire at 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 27 - Men vs. New Hampshire at 2 p.m.

The University of Hartford men’s basketball program is in its 62nd year of competition. In 2009-10, the men’s basketball team finished with a 8-22 overall record and finished sixth in the America East. This season, the Hawks return 11 players from last season’s squad, while welcoming four newcomers under first-year head coach John Gallagher, who makes his return to the Hartford sidelines after serving as an associate coach during the 2006-08 seasons.
 
The University of Hartford women’s basketball program will play its 36th season in 2010-11, its 12th season under the program’s longest tenured head coach, Jennifer Rizzotti. Under Rizzotti, the Hawks have won four America East Championships and advanced to play in the postseason in each of the last six years. Last season, the Hawks finished with a 27-5 overall record and a 16-0 record in America East play, finishing first in the conference.
