Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN) Media Lab Wins Two Student Emmy Awards of the Boston/New England Chapter for the 2012 Television Season

 

HARTFORD, Conn. (May 7, 2012) – The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Boston/New England Chapter has awarded two Student Emmy Awards to the CPBN Media Lab for work done during the 2012 television season. The CPBN Media Lab won awards in the categories of Best College/University Sports and Best College/University Arts and Entertainment/Cultural Affairs.

 

As a service of the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network, the CPBN Media Lab works in conjunction with CPTV in helping to train and educate young journalists and media specialists. Since 2007, the CPBN Media Lab has provided real world technical and journalism training for over 500 Connecticut students, from middle school to college postgraduates.

“This is the first time we’ve entered the Student Emmy competition,” said Paul Pfeffer, the manager of education services at CPBN. “These awards act as a professional acknowledgment that the instruction our students receive in the CPBN Media Lab prepares them to succeed in television. That is enormously gratifying and aligns with the Media Lab’s goal of creating the area’s most talented and skilled 21st century journalists.”
