Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy Issues Proclamation Recognizing CPTV’s 50th Anniversary
Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) will be the recipient of a special Governor’s Proclamation honoring the station’s fifty years of service to the state of Connecticut.
The PBS station began broadcasting on October 1, 1962, from the basement of the Trinity College library in Hartford. Today, CPTV is one of the most award-winning and respected producers and presenters of local and national television programming and a leader in innovative educational initiatives.
The proclamation will be presented by First Lady Cathy Malloy at a special reception held at the Governor’s Residence in Hartford on Wednesday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m. All members of the press who are interested in attending the event should contact Carol Sisco at (860) 275-7212 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, October 1.
