State Rep. John Geragosian and State Rep. Craig Miner Discuss the Democratic Alternative Budget and Tax Plan Proposal

HARTFORD, Conn. – On this week’s On the Record (OTR), airing on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) on Friday, April 10 at 8:30 p.m. (with repeats airing on Sunday, April 12 at 10 a.m. and Monday, April 13 at 11:30 p.m.), host Steve Kotchko is joined by State Rep. John Geragosian (D) of New Britain, co-chairperson of the Appropriations Committee, and State Rep. Craig Miner (R) of Litchfield, ranking Republican on the Appropriations Committee. They will discuss the two current state budget plans and whether either plan has sufficient spending cuts to match up with the tax revenue side needed by the state. In addition, Rep. Geragosian will be asked which programs and services are included in the $220 million in announced cuts from the Democratic proposal.

Also, in the “Notes From the Capitol” segment, Paul Hughes of the Waterbury Republican-American will provide his insights and analysis on the relationship between Governor Rell and the Democratic legislature after weeks of “icy” comments from both sides regarding the current deficit crisis.
