CPTV Celebrates the Festival of Lights with 3 Hanukkah Specials Starting Wed., Dec. 17 at 10 p.m.
Hartford, Conn. – Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) is celebrating the Jewish Festival of Lights with three fun, family-oriented Hanukkah specials. It all begins on Wednesday, December 17 at 10 p.m. with Lights! Celebrate Hanukkah Live.
Taped in high-definition before a live audience, Lights! Celebrate Hanukkah Live is a star-filled musical celebration hosted by renowned singer/songwriter Craig Taubman. Taubman’s musical guests include Grammy Award-winners The Klezmatics, cantor/tenor Alberto Mizrahi, top-selling jazz artist Dave Koz and the soulful Joshua Nelson. Emmy Award-winning actress and singer Mare Winningham and rising folk singer Michelle Citrin also will perform.

On Sunday, December 21, CPTV airs back-to-back Hanukkah specials starting with Chanukah Stories at 1:30 p.m. Chanukah Stories includes animated versions of two popular Chanukah tales – The Tie Man’s Miracle and Moishe’s Miracle. The Tie Man's Miracle, narrated by actress Jami Gertz, celebrates the true meaning and enduring spirit of the holiday. Moishe's Miracle, narrated by television veteran Bob Saget, is a humorous fable of a magical frying pan that produces all the latkes Moishe could wish for – as long as only he does the cooking!
Then at 2 p.m.,CPTV will air A Chanukah Celebration.Hosted by actress Fran Drescher, the special includes a delicious new dessert from chef, author and television host Jeff Nathan (New Jewish Cuisine); home celebration and decorating tips from TLC's Teresa Strasser (While You Were Out); musical performances from Craig Taubman and some very special guest artists; a contemporary telling of the "Eight Lights of Chanukah" by Irwin Kula; and the award-winning puppets from Alef...Bet...Blast-Off!
