Release Date: 12/09/2008

HARTFORD, Conn. – EatingCT, airing on CPTV on Wednesday, December 17 at 11 p.m.,visits Middletown to learn about the revitalization of the city over the past 10 years and highlight some of its most popular restaurants. Host Jason Hawkins indulges in some Italian cuisine at Amici, Tuscany Grill and Luce. Then he samples some vegetarian dishes at It's Only Natural Restaurant, grabs a booth at Brew Bakers and visits O'Rourke's Diner, which has recently re-opened after the fire that destroyed it two years ago. Hawkins’ culinary adventure also includes a tour of the historic Wadsworth Mansion and a stop at the Garden Street Arts Center, where he experiences some of its dance, music and painting classes.

According to Hawkins, EatingCT is a virtual travel guide for those with a hearty appetite, a love of history and, of course, a great sense of humor.

“We’ll talk to chefs, owners, wait staff and anyone else behind the scenes. We’ll also get the compelling stories behind the restaurants and learn their tasty secrets,” said Hawkins.

Each half-hour episode features “Bonus Bites,” a segment that includes additional recommended restaurants, and the weekly “Culinary Quiz” trivia question, which offers viewers the chance to win fabulous prizes. EatingCT also features a companion website at www.cptv.org, which provides links to featured restaurants and allows viewers to participate in contests, provide feedback and acquire information on show-related events. With beautifully shot video, compelling interviews, contemporary music and an interactive website, EatingCT is a high-quality program that gives viewers full access to the best eateries in the state.
