Long Wharf Theatre Production of Fences on December 5, 2013, at 8 p.m.
August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Fences is coming to Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, November 27 through December 22, under the direction of Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show).
The play tells the story of Troy Maxson, who found glory in his youth in the Negro Leagues. But now it’s the 1950s – his opportunity to play in the major leagues has passed, and he’s a garbage man. As he struggles to provide for his family, he tries to contain his bitterness and seeks solace by spinning tales on his front porch. Fences, part of Wilson’s renowned “Century Cycle,” deals with familial relationships, the disappointment and struggles all people deal with, and fundamental issues of equality and decency.
To enter to win a pair of tickets to the performance on Thursday, December 5 at 8 p.m., fill out the form below. Entries must be submitted by Friday, November 29 at noon. Good luck!
