Hundreds of small business owners got to learn about the added benefits of going green at the Connecticut Showcase in Waterbury, an event organized by the office of the Secretary of the State. Â
Secretary of the State Susan Byciewicz says large companies like IBM and Microsoft exhibited some of their green products.
“It was an opportunity for small business owners and entrepreneurs to learn about how to reduce energy consumption, how to maximize efficient building design, how to increase recycling and reuse material.â€
Bysiewicz says entrepreneurs expand their market by going green. Large businesses are increasingly interested in partnering with environmental-friendly small businesses. More consumers like to buy products from green companies. Bysiewicz wants to create more state incentives for green building and design. Another business expo with the same theme will be held in Wallingford this fall.
