But the cookoff is not just for fun, it's a serious sport with serious prizes. The International Chili Society, the largest food contest in the world, just awarded Jerry Buma, the 2007 World's Champion Red Chili Winner, twenty-five THOUSAND dollars.
Chion heard about a recent cookoff at the Connecticut Culinary Institute - with members of the Hartford Fire Department...and she went to get a taste.
