Culture Connect Featured Event
Connecticut Community Care, Inc. (CCCI), the state’s largest non-profit care management service for elders and individuals with disabilities, is proud to sponsor another benefit concert, featuring the inspiring Young@Heart Chorus. This spirited and engaging group of performers, ranging from age 73-93, will perform "Young@Heart-This is Getting Old,” Saturday, June 16, 2012.
CCCI is honored to pay tribute to the contributions of these talented individuals and to bring such a highly-acclaimed show back for a return engagement to Connecticut and The Bushnell’s Belding Theater. The Chorus, organized in 1982 by current director Bob Cilman and others, has experienced tremendous growth over the past 30 years. Today, Young@Heart is recognized and loved by audiences of all ages throughout Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia and the U.S. A 2006 Walker George documentary featuring the Chorus has won numerous awards and airs periodically on local PBS stations. "Young@Heart-This is Getting Old” will feature new songs and some all-time favorites.
Concert proceeds will benefit CCCI’s Independent Living Fund, available to provide resources to assist CCCI clients and consumers in times of need.
