Webb Deane-Stevens Museum Tags & Treasures Sale
Ticket Price: $5

The 2012 tag-and-estate-sale season fast approaches, and collectors of vintage oddities, artifacts and antiques can get a head start on their quest for this year’s hottest collectibles during the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum Tags & Treasures Sale, March 31-April 1, in the Webb Barn at 211 Main St., Old Wethersfield, Connecticut.
For more than 40 years, the Tags & Treasures Sale has been organized by the Connecticut Chapter of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America (NSCDA). The bi-annual event features hundreds of household items, including small furniture, basement bargains, vintage pieces, and historic estate items from some of Connecticut’s oldest families. The sale opens to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, for a $5 admission charge. A bag sale begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, when shoppers fill shopping bags provided by the museum with sale items for only $3 per bag.
Among the treasures to be found at this year’s sale are glass, sterling silver, china, linens, fine jewelry and books – all donated by the Colonial Dames, who maintain the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum. The money raised from the Tags & Treasures Sale, the museum’s largest fundraiser, supports the operations and educational programs of the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum.
