Phil Rosenthal, the Connecticut Commission on the Arts’ State Troubadour in 1994, performs traditional favorite, folk and bluegrass and original compositions as well as a sing-along or two as part of the Trumbull Library’s One Book, One Town program. Rosenthal is a nationally renowned singer and songwriter whose original compositions have been recorded by many leading bluegrass and country music performers, including Johnny Cash and Bill Monroe. For many years he was the lead singer and guitarist in the popular bluegrass group The Seldom Scene. He is also highly respected for his instrumental skills on banjo and mandolin.
