Pedals for Progress Bike and Sewing Machine Collection
Ticket Price: $10 Donation requested with each bike or sewing machine

Pedals for Progress will hold its 11th annual Granby bike collection sponsored by Jackie Johnson with support from Holcomb Farm on Saturday, May 26th from noon to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at Holcomb Farm, 113 Simsbury Road. Anyone with an adult or child’s bicycle in working or repairable condition is encouraged to donate it to this great cause. We are also collecting working sewing machines.

Over the last 20 years, Pedals for Progress has prevented over 130,000 bikes from entering our waste stream. Instead, families are living better lives because they have the simple mobility of a bicycle.

The cost to collect, process, ship, rebuild, and distribute each bicycle is $40. A $10 minimum donation toward shipping costs in requested with each bike or sewing machine, however any additional donations are greatly appreciated to cover the increasing cost of shipping. All cash and material donations are fully tax deductible and a receipt will be available at the collection site.  Pedals for Progress is a 501 c (3) corporation and a registered charity in Connecticut. For more information call Jackie Johnson at 653-7758.
