The replicated Algonkian Village at IAIS comes to life this summer with its popular Village Interpreter Program!  In its 8th year, this fun summer event offers weekend visitors a personal glimpse into the cultures and lifeways of Native North America. Experience the living history of Connecticut as Native American descendents from various tribes across the country demonstrate traditional crafts and skills, sharing their history, culture and life experiences and answering your questions. The Village Interpreter program runs from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm.

Taino, Two Kettles Lakota, Ojibwa, Abenaki, Mi’Kmaq, Shinnecock, Mohawk, Cree, and Cherokee descendents, all who reside in Connecticut, will be represented over the various weekends throughout the summer.  Call for details.   Funded in part by the Ellen Knowles Harcourt Foundation and the Connecticut Community Foundation.
