The Boston-based period instrument group, Rowe's Lane Quartet, will perform a program of classical string quartet favorites, as well as a quartet by George Onslow, known as the "French Beethoven". Selections include the Haydn Quartet Opus 20, #2 in C major, the Mozart Quartet K. 589 in B flat major, and the Onslow Quartet Opus 9, #1 in G minor.
The performers are Julia McKenzie and Laura Gulley, violins, Jenny Stirling, viola, and Sarah Freiberg, cello. Rowe's Lane Quartet was named for a street in Boston that in 1800 was the site of America's first Conservatory of Music.
This is the 9th Annual Roslyn Young Memorial Concert.
