The 2012-2013 Sacred Sounds Concert Series at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph resumes with our first presentation of 2013: The Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra under the direction of newly appointed Maestro Ng Tian Hui. Next Friday, January 18 at 8:00 pm, The Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra  will present a program  consisting of Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D Major K.314, Antonín Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, and excerpts from A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Felix Mendelssohn.  The Flute Concerto will feature Mount Holyoke College student and winner of the 2012 Concerto Competition Ariel Hayat as flute soloist, and the Violin Concerto will feature local multiple prize-winning violinist, Sarah Hadley Yakir, as violin soloist.

Come hear these young enthusiastic performers in one of Hartford’s finest acoustics. There is no admission charge for this concert, but a free-will offering will be gratefully accepted. The Cathedral is located at 140 Farmington Avenue in Hartford, CT. There is ample secure parking available.
