The choirs of JOYFUL NOISE, INC. (Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus) reprise their critically acclaimed performance of Missa Gaia (Earth Mass) under the direction of conductor Gabriel Löfvall on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, 140 Farmington Avenue, in Hartford, CT. The concert is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph located in the heart of Connecticut’s capital city. There is ample secure parking available for all concert events.
Missa Gala/The Earth Mass will showcase the music of Paul Winter, Paul Halley, Alberto Ginastera, and Stephen Hatfield, with stirring spirituals and lively folksongs, and features a special guest appearance by renowned gospel artist Theresa Thomason, with percussionist Nick Halley, and local Celtic music phenomenon, The Jolly Beggars. This concert is being given under the auspices of Hartford Concerts for Charities. In keeping with HCC tradition, all proceeds from this concert will go to the Hospital de Niños in La Plata, Argentina.
