Many people have an old (or brand new) sewing machine tucked away in their basement or attic. Don't let it gather dust any longer – learn to use your machine in this beginner's class on Sunday, February 24 from 1-4 p.m. The class will include time to learn, as well as time to begin a simple project. You will learn how to use your machine and do several basic stitches (straight stitch, gathering stitch, zigzag). Instruction will include threading the machine, using the bobbin, tension, and backstitching. Participants are required to bring a sewing machine with needle, thread, and correct bobbin. If available, please bring the user manual. The class is $35 per person ($30 for museum members) and is limited to 10 participants. Included in the cost are 1/2 yard of fabric, one spool of thread, and instructions to make either an 18" square pillow or a pair of placemats. Registration is required.
