Dance Cabaret
featuring
Grupo Niche
& Henry Santos
Dance the night away with Grupo Niche, “the kings of romantic salsa,” at UConn’s annual celebration of hot latin music, food and dance! The evening opens with a DJ and UConn’s own BAILE, followed by Henry Santos of Aventura and Grupo Niche, who will fill your night with latin music that really sizzles!! Grupo Niche is known for its vigorous, uptempo dance music as well as slower-paced romantic numbers. The band was founded by its current leader, Jairo Varela, in 1978 in Bogotá and is currently based in Cali, Colombia. “Jairo’s pen represents the essence of the Latin American streets. He is a photographer of our continent, and his poetry transcends salsa,” says Colombian songwriter Estefano.
Jorgensen’s trendy cabaret setting, with a large open dance floor and delicious Latin food and drink, guarantees a night that will be hot, hot, hot!
Hartford Advocate readers voted Jorgensen as one of the best places to listen to Latin music!
