Halloween Art Workshop: "Sculpt" a Jack O' Lantern!
Ticket Price: $25; includes materials
For Tickets, Contact: Venue

Halloween provides a great opportunity and unique inspiration for creating art. The tradition of pumpkin carving is no exception, but not everyone is so skilled with knives, or even old enough to use them! Whether your kids plan to spend Halloween night trick or treating or waiting for the Great Pumpkin, they can get into the “spirit” of Halloween by creating decorations at the Darien Arts Center.

An age-old tradition at the DAC, the Sculpt a Jack O’ Lantern class returns this year with fun new ideas. Joyce Bottone, DAC Birthday Party coordinator and art teacher, brings children aged 5 and up together to “sculpt” a hand-crafted pumpkin using plaster of Paris that can be used year after year. Students also make “skeletons” and work at other activities to celebrate, create and enjoy.

The Darien Arts Center’s Visual Arts department presents Sculpt a Jack O’ Lantern on October 17 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The workshop fee is $25 and will take place at the DAC Visual Arts Studio behind Darien Town Hall. Registration in advance is requested. For more information or to register, call the DAC Office at (203) 655-8683 or email [email protected].
