Exotic pets are topic of lecture series
at Stamford Museum & Nature Center
Join famed naturalist Chris Evers of Animal Embassy for a two-part lecture series that explores whether exotic animals make good pets on Friday, Oct. 10, and Friday Nov. 7, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Stamford Museum & Nature Center.
These programs will feature a variety of exotic animals, all of which were household pets at one time. In October, Evers will bring along Sully, a tortoise, Chipper, a blue and gold Macaw, and even a baby alligator to help illustrate what kind of challenges exotic pet owners face.
In November, Evers will discuss “Take a Walk on the Practical Side: Responsible Pet Ownership.” Geckos, tree frogs, chinchillas, ferrets, rabbits and turtles which were all household pets at one time, will help Evers illustrate why it is important to choose the right pet for you.
These programs are suitable for children age 5 and older. Pre-registration is required. Please call 203.322.1646 ext. 6521 to register. Maximum attendance is 75.
