Evening Lecture Series: Cougars Come to Town
Ticket Price: Free

Bill Betty, a mountain lion lecturer from Rhode Island, will discuss all aspects of cougar behavior as well as sport hunting, reproduction, pets, predation, and habituation, and how cougars are rapidly reoccupying the Northeast. Sightings and evidence maps of the Eastern states and Canadian provinces will be shown. Bill is a very knowledgeable and fascinating speaker with more than a dozen sightings and chance meetings with cougars in New England. His narrative of decades of close encounters with nature’s perfect predator gives compelling testimony about the presence of puma concolor in the Northeast. $5 suggested donation. Refreshments will be served. This lecture, taking place in the Hanson Exploration Station, is part of the Evening Lecture Series, sponsored by Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo Volunteer Association.
