The first concert on October 20^th is sponsored by the Friends of the Symphony with the soloist supported by Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. The program begins with Kenneth Fuchs, Atlantic Riband, a salute to the grandeur and glamour of the age of the passenger ship when it was the sole mode of transportation between America and Europe. (Mr. Fuchs will be present and will share the pre-concert chat with the Music Director, Toshi Shimada.) The guest soloist, Steinway Artist, Peter Frankl, will play the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 for the 100^th time in his extraordinary 50 year long career. Mr. Frankl has appeared all over the world with all the great conductors past and present. The final piece on the program will be Berlioz’s Romeo and Juliet: Orchestral Selections. Single tickets for this concert are available at $27-$60 through the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Office at 860-443-2876 or on line at: www.gardearts.com beginning September 10. Subscriptions are now on sale through the ECSO office. For further information access our website: www.ectsymphony.com or visit us on Face Book.
