Dharma Flower Sangha
Sharing Buddhist Practice and Wisdom
Day of Mindfulness
 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Our theme for this day of mindfulness will be The Noble Eight-Fold Path.
Please join us for this day of mindfulness. Our theme invites investigation of these fundamental Buddhist principles for living life in a manner that will reduce suffering and create greater harmony in the world. We will share a variety of meditation techniques--sitting, walking, working and tea meditation, as well as various practices such as Precept Recitation. We will also do some chanting and prostrations. An opportunity to have a one-on-one meeting with one of our teachers will be provided. With the exception of practicing mindfully, all practices are optional.
Weather permitting, we will do outside walking meditation so please be prepared for this practice. Chairs as well as cushions will be available for your use or you may feel free to bring your own.
In accord with Buddha’s view on sharing, please bring a vegetarian lunch for yourself, as well as sufficient food to share with one other person. The lunch period will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
Our guiding teachers are Venerable Thich Thien Loi, abbot of Phap Hoa Temple and Sister Phap Chan.
Tom Duva, lay member of the Order of Interbeing & the Dharma Teacher’s Order will also help facilitate our day.
Ven. Thich Thien Loi will offer a dharma discussion related to our theme, followed by group sharing.
Following Buddhist tradition, boxes will be available for those who wish to make offerings.
