Culture Connect Featured Event
Gandhi said, “Almost everything you do may seem insignificant but it is very important that you do it.” That is the spirit of this year’s Children’s Peace Festival. Children 6-12 (and their younger brothers and sisters) accompanied by an adult, are invited to come and enjoy storytelling, dance, face painting, games, music, crafts and more. The Festival is free and open to all on Sunday, June 23, 1-5 p.m. at the Holy Family Retreat Center, 303 Tunxis Rd., West Hartford, CT. Rain or Shine! Some of our featured contributors include: Music by APPLEJOY, stories by Sara DeBeer, dance by Lisa Muscanell, balloon play with Kelly Verret.
This year’s Festival will include a poster display and a poetry reading, and we’re looking forward to seeing or hearing children's thoughts about peace. If you are a young artist and/or a young poet, you may drop off your poster or poem on the theme of peace in advance (or mail them to): Holy Family Retreat Center c/o Fr John, 303 Tunxis Rd, West Hartford 06107.
Please join us for all or part of the afternoon to celebrate ten years of learning about peacemaking.
