Connecticut’s Irish musicians and singers have establishing a long-standing tradition in greater Hartford with weekly “sessions,” which are gatherings filled with traditional songs and music in local pubs. The late P.V. O’Donnell was a host of those sessions and established Saint Joseph College’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration concert. With his traditional fiddle music, O’Donnell established a legacy of transporting his audiences to his Irish homeland to share in its songs and stories. The annual “session” at Saint Joseph College has become a tradition for hundreds of local Irish and Celtic music fans.
