Portland, CT – September 15, 2012. Brownstone holds its second annual Guts & Glory Quarry Challenge. The name says it all...you need Guts to get through it and then the Glory is all yours. Proceeds benefit the Connecticut Special Olympics. Though there are other extreme challenges out there, Brownstone’s terrain amps it up a few notches. “Nature has given us the ultimate challenge course” says Sean Hayes, General Manager of Brownstone. “We have the usual running and mud challenges, but we also have a 30’ cliff rope climb, a 70’ cargo net cliff climb, quarry swim and of course we’ve thrown in some racing zip lines and log carries for good measure. Those that have trained with us throughout the season are in the best shape of their life”. The 2011 participants felt both relief and empowerment upon completing the Guts & Glory Quarry Challenge. Brownstone has given early notice this year so many participants began training for the event by participating in a series of weekly training events throughout the season on the actual course. For more information and to register for the event go to www.BrownstonePark.com. Event registration is still open, but limited. For anyone concerned about completing the challenge, Brownstone has given a hint for success. Train hard. For those that don’t there are some challenges with multiple options for completion, although points are deducted if you choose the easy route.
