Thirty thought leaders will talk about creativity and the creative process across disciplines in Ridgefield CT

New York Times tech columnist will give the opening lecture at a two-day conference about creative thinking in Ridgefield, CT next week. The conference is called "Advancing Creative Thinking: Imagination to Innovation. It will take place April 27 and 28 at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, 258 Main Street and The Ridgefield Library, 472 Main Street 

A cross-disciplinary event, the idea is to explore creativity and the creative process through the lenses of imagination and innovation. On Friday April 27, David Pogue will open that exploration with a talk titled, "Disruptive Creativity: How Bright Ideas Change Everything. Pogue is poised to share his take on the lastest high tech inventions and services. He will make the compelling case that the individuals behind every meaningful development have vivid imaginations and unrivaled perserverance. Pogue will be joined by two other panelists, Bruce King-Shey, Lead, New York Office, Jump Associates, and Lily Yeh, Public Arts Advocate, and moderator, Geoffrey Morris, Editor and Publisher, Morris Media Group magazines. This talk will take place at the Jesse Lee Sanctuary, 207 Main Street.

On Saturday April 28 at The Aldrich, there will be numerous programs, workshops, panel discussions and creative conversations. Among them will be: "Stories of Innovation Success" with Matt Greeley, CEO of Brightidea, "Creative Models for Towns and Cities," with Andrea Garnter, executive director at CityCenter Danbury, and "Artistry Unleashed," with Dr. Hilary Austen from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto. Workshops focusing on book arts, drawing, music, movement and poetry will encourage attendees to put the creative process into practice.

Saturday evening, the conference will move to the Ridgefield Library for a wine reception at 5:45 and a closing keynote session led by Nicholas Donofrio, fellow emeritus IBM, who will focus on innovation for the twenty-first century. Donofrio  will be joined by David Yaun, Vice President Global Industries, Market, IBM and Dr. Hilary Austen, author and Adjunct Professor, Rotman School of Business.

Tickets range from $25. to $125. The full 2-day conference ticket is $125. The full day and evening on Saturday is $95.
