8th Annual Native American Archaeology Roundtable– “Reservation Archaeology”
Ticket Price: Free
For Tickets, Contact: Venue

Please  join us for another rousing Native American-Archaeology Round table with interesting presentations and panel discussions by local professional archaeologists and Native American leadership.

This year’s theme is Reservation Archaeology.

Archaeologists have only recently begun to survey and excavate on the state’s indigenous reservations.

Who is in charge of the digs? What histories have they unearthed? Why is reservation archaeology so significant?

Come join us at the Round Table and find out!  Scheduled speakers include Dr. Jeffrey Bendremer (former archaeologist for the Mohegan and Flathead tribes); Dr. Kevin McBride (Director of Research at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center); Dr. Stuart Reeve (senior archaeologist at TetraTech) and Kathleen von Jena (Redding Town Historian and Membership Manager at Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation);  Trudie Richmond (Schaghticoke elder & retired Director of Public Programming at Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center); Zachary Singer (Ph.D. candidate, University of Connecticut Department of Anthropology); and Elaine Thomas (Mohegan Assistant Tribal Historic Preservation Officer).

The public is welcome!

Time:  1:30 pm-5 pm
