Even though John McCain co-sponsored the first federal climate change bill Christopher Phelps of Environment Connecticut says Barach Obama has a better voting record on environmental issues.
“Obama has supported a strong science-based cuts in global warming pollution. What Senator McCain has supported is weaker efforts to address global warming. I should be absolutely clear McCain clearly has acknowledged that we need to act on the issue of global warming. He deserves credit for that, but its clear when you compare their positions Senator Obama’s response to the issue of global warming is much stringer and will take our nation much farther down the path of doing what we need to do to stop global warming.â€
Phelps points to Obama’s support for an 80% cut in geenhouse gas emissions, whole McCain supports a reduction of about 60 by 2050.
