Position: Internship: Technical Engineering

Reports to: Engineering Supervisors and Director of Engineering,

Job Description

Availability: Fall, Winter/Spring, and summer semesters

Hours: 10-15 hours per week based around television week-to-week engineering schedule

Job Responsibilities

 Assist with broadcast-related duties including, but not limited to:

  • TV Automation, Master Control Operations, (AV switching to air, media ingest, operate ‘house router), digital asset management, broadcast servers
  • Over the air, television and FM broadcast transmitters statewide, along with microwave inter connects
  • Candidate will help and observe engineering staff, but amount of hands-on experience will vary by work requirements and skills demonstrated by candidate

Job Skills/Qualifications


  • Strong knowledge of Internet Protocols, Networking, servers and PCs.
  • Willing to learn about over the air broadcast transmitters TV and FM
  • Willing to learn about microwave transmitters and receivers
  • Willingness to take direction
  • Schedule requires flexibility
  • Computer literacy and keyboard/typing skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to handle various tasks at one time
  • Knowledge of Internet and e-mail communication
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel,  preferred
