This morning WNPR's Ray Hardman begins a series of conversations gearing up to the opening of the Beijing Olympics on Friday.

Today a look at China and the importance the super power has placed on these Olympics. In the seven years since the International Olympic Committee announced China would be the host of the 2008 Summer Games, the Chinese Government has spent billions transforming Beijing into a modern, clean and friendly metropolis.

According to Dr. Usha Haley, Professor of International Business at the University of New Haven, and co-author of the book The Chinese Tao of Business, while China has high expectations for these Olympics, the rest of the world has expectations for the Chinese government.
