Connecticut's International Stem Cell Research Symposium begins today in New Haven. Scientists and ethicists from around the country will gather to focus on the latest developments in stem cell research. Connecticut has been a leader in the field since 2005, when the General Assembly approved state funding of embryonic stem cell research. To date, they've allocated almost $30 million to researchers at UCONN, Yale, and Wesleyan.  Warren Wollschlager, Chief of the Office of Research and Development at the Department of Health, joined Ray Hardman on Morning Edition to talk about Connecticut's Stem Cell Program.
